Hello!
My name is Sofia and I’m an artist, mom and postpartum doula in Northampton, Massachusetts who is passionate about helping families during the intense and magical postpartum period.
As a mother of two with over five years experience as a personal organizer and cleaner, I love working with families in their homes to help beautify their spaces and make life a little easier when it really counts.
The postpartum period, or “the fourth trimester” is such a sacred time. So much healing and adjusting is happening and it's so important we are well supported. Unfortunately so many of us don’t have access to the help we really need. In our society the postpartum period is so often overlooked, underfunded, or not given the respect and resources it deserves. What brought me to postpartum doula work…
My first daughter was born in April 2020. The world was in peak early-pandemic mode, and we had no family in the area. My husband and I navigated the rocky waters of a global health crisis, a new home that needed extensive work, and our transformed lives with a newborn all at once. We did not always handle the stress well! I learned firsthand how crucial extra help is during those early weeks from surviving without it.
When my second daughter was born in July 2023, we had more help lined up. However, an unexpected family loss occurred the day after my daughter was born, adding a deep wound to the already-fragile postpartum healing time. Looking back, it felt like there were simply too many needs in the house, and not enough people to meet them.
At the same time, the delight of meeting our new babies and getting to know them created a magic halo around those early months and beautiful memories I will always cherish. The postpartum period can be so many things at once!
Having worked extensively in clients' homes as a personal organizer, personal assistant and house cleaner, I've always known I love working with people in their homes and providing support through big transitions. After my second daughter was born, inspiration struck and I decided to start working towards my DONA Postpartum Doula Certification.
I aim to help families of all kinds as they move through the huge transition that is welcoming home a new baby, and I know that journey is different for everyone. No one knows your body, your baby and your family better than you. I would be honored to support your family through this amazing transition!
